The increase in the number of voters is primarily due to the addition of new voters, including those who turned 18 years of age on or before January 01, 2024. The Election Commission has also undertaken a particular drive to add the names of eligible voters to the electoral rolls.
Young voters, who are the most enthusiastic about voting, can apply to add their names to the electoral rolls by visiting the nearest polling station or by submitting an online application.
The last date to apply to add your name to the electoral rolls is February 22, 2024.
Here are the steps to apply to add your name to the electoral rolls:
Visit the nearest polling station or submit an online application.
Download the application form from the website of the Election Commission of India.
Fill in the application form carefully.
Attach a copy of your Aadhaar card, voter ID card, or any other government-issued ID card.
Submit the application form to the polling station or the Election Commission of India.
The Election Commission of India has also made it easier for voters to change their names, addresses, and other details in the electoral rolls. Voters can apply for these changes online or by visiting the nearest polling station.
The Lok Sabha elections races are booked to be held in 2024. The Election Commission will announce the dates for the elections in due course.
